Is there a private AI note taker for iPhone that works on device and offline?
Yes. Turn on Private Mode in MeetingsAI. Your recording, transcript, summary and chat are made on your iPhone, with Apple Intelligence or an AI model you download once. After that, they work in airplane mode. Private Mode works on Android too, with the downloaded models.
Which AI models does Private Mode use?
On an iPhone or iPad with iOS 26 or later and Apple Intelligence turned on, you can use Apple Intelligence with no download. Or download a model: SmolLM2 360M (about 258 MB), LLaMA 3.2 1B (about 500 MB, recommended), Gemma 4 E2B or Qwen 3 4B (about 2.5 GB each).
Does Private Mode work on Android?
Yes. Android phones use the downloaded models. Apple Intelligence is only on iPhone and iPad.
What still needs internet in Private Mode?
Downloading a model or a translation language pack needs internet once. Some tools always use the cloud: web search in chat (on by default, you can turn it off in the chat), Cheat Mode, YouTube and X links, scanned PDFs and meeting webpages. Quiz makes its questions on your phone, but it only opens when you are online.
Which languages does Private Mode support?
Transcripts and summaries in Private Mode are optimized for English. Live translation in Private Mode works for the languages that have an on-device language pack. For other languages, Cloud AI mode transcribes 50+ languages.
Does Private Mode label speakers?
No. Speaker labels need Cloud AI mode.
Are my meetings used to train AI?
No. MeetingsAI never uses your meetings to train AI models, in Private Mode or in Cloud AI mode.
How much does MeetingsAI cost?
MeetingsAI is free to download. The monthly plan costs $14.99 a month and starts with a 3-day free trial. The weekly plan ($6.99 a week) and the annual plan ($99.99 a year) have no trial. You pick and pay for a plan inside the app, through the App Store or Google Play. These are US prices, and they can differ by country.
